About the Internship

CollCom is organizing the Community Connect Hackathon 2024 to develop a web application that will bridge the gap between blood donors and seekers, organize blood donation camps, and promote regular blood donations.

Internship Role

Participants will work in teams to develop a web application that efficiently matches blood donors with seekers, manages blood donation camps, tracks volunteer activities, and rewards donors.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a user-friendly registration system for blood donors and seekers.
Create a real-time blood matching algorithm based on blood group and urgency.
Develop a directory of registered blood banks and NGOs.
Implement blood bank and NGO registration portal with event posting functionality.
Design a partner dashboard for managing blood donation drives and tracking donor statistics.
Create scheduling and promotion tools for blood donation camps.
Implement volunteer management tools for camp coordination.
Integrate real-time location tracking and travel assistance for donors using Google Maps.
Create a points-based reward system for donors and an impact tracker for donated blood.
Develop communication tools for donors, seekers, and organizers, including alerts and in-app messaging.
Create an admin dashboard to manage user profiles, donation requests, and generate reports.
Implement educational resources and community engagement features like articles, videos, and social media sharing.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Front-End frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Experience in developing mobile-responsive websites.
Knowledge of Back-End frameworks such as Node.js, Django, Flask, or Ruby on Rails.
Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Familiarity with integrating APIs like Google Maps, SMS/Email notifications, and Payment Gateways.
Understanding of security measures like SSL encryption, OAuth, and GDPR compliance.
